Wang Resin is a polystyrene-based solid support functionalized with a p-hydroxybenzyl alcohol linker, widely used in Fmoc solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). It enables the synthesis of peptides with a C-terminal carboxylic acid, making it ideal for bioactive, linear, and research peptides. The resin forms a benzyl ester linkage with the first amino acid, which is stable during synthesis but readily cleaved under acidic conditions.
